Flandreau Indian School - Parent-Student Compact
This compact is an agreement between Flandreau Indian School and our students' families. It outlines our shared responsibility for improving academic achievement and supporting students in reaching high standards.
School Responsibilities
At Flandreau Indian School, we commit to supporting student learning through:
- High-Quality Education
We provide a high-quality curriculum and a positive, supportive environment. Our highly qualified teachers are dedicated to helping students meet state academic standards. We also offer Response to Intervention (RTI) for students needing extra support. - Regular Student-Teacher Conferences
We hold conferences twice yearly so students can discuss their progress with teachers. - Frequent Progress Reports
We keep parents informed with weekly progress sheets and end-of-quarter progress reports. - Accessible Communication
We provide families with school hours, class schedules and teacher availability. At the beginning of the school year, parents will also receive a handbook with contact information for school staff. - Volunteer and Participation Opportunities
Parents are welcome to volunteer, participate in their child’s classroom, and observe activities.

Read all communications from the school and respond as needed. - Celebrating Achievements
Praise your child’s accomplishments, improvements and hard work throughout the school year. - Providing Guidance
Offer positive guidance to your child and stay involved in their education.
